Life is Intentional
An Eastern Washington Reflective Morning...
Sitting in Smitty's in Wenatchee awaiting breakfast while my tires are siped. I love Les Schwab! I don't need new tires, it's just the style of my 'all weather' tire that's not optimal. Therefore, they are splicing my tires for a fraction of the price of four new tires.
I am surrounded by senior citizens. Adorable two older gentlemen talking. One's been married 48 years. The other says, as they're discussing their "honey do lists", "She has plenty of things she wants me to do, but the older I get, I just want to do things I want to do."
"The older I get, I just want to do the things I want to do"
I got a bit of a chuckle out of the two. The conversation expanded to the 48 year married veteran sharing about a fist fight in his younger days. The two were sharing battle stories. It was adorable.
Their conversation got me thinking. Life is very short lived. It goes by in the blink of an eye. One day we're making our first friends in kindergarten and then before we know, we're walking the isle to pomp and circumstance and the world is our oyster. We begin making mental lists of what we want to accomplish, where we want our lives to take us. When we are fortunate, some of those same friends from days gone past remain close to our journeys.
That special someone catches our eye, maybe children enter the equation or not. Our careers form and maybe reform a few times.
Our career form and maybe reform a few times...
Some of us pour our efforts into those relationships, some into our careers, and others into beautiful journeys and adventures. Our path takes us through an obstacle course of challenges, opportunities, heartbreak and reward. Unfortunately, many of us miss the fact that none of this is by accident. It often, more than not, is multiple acts over the sequence of our lives to the law of attraction. Nothing is by luck, life is intentional.
Nothing is by luck...Life is intentional...
What we seek, what we spend our energy on thinking about is what we draw near. Jack Canfield explains the Law of Attraction like this: if you have a room full of tuning forks and you chime an A Fork, all the other A Forks will begin to chime. It's that simple. We attract that which we are like or we focus upon.
Therefore, I bet if this darling older gentlemen started to focus on the tasks he would like instead of the "honey do list" he doesn't want, his life could evolve. Or if we practiced Thic Nhat Hanh's teachings of gratefulness and took on each task in our lives with an authentic gratefulness, we could explore life with intentional happiness, joy. If we needed to raise $50,000 in a very short time, and we focused on the fabulous donors who have been loyal contributors for the past five years, you could attract a few of them to easily create that $50,000 opportunity.
Because we are a pack animal, we do best in the company of others, most often. Therefore, our daily tasks or our "honey do lists" are often a compromise to help another's life be joyous. The old saying, "when mama's happy the world's happy" is a statement true to fact.
Women's female energy makes the world go round...
Women's female energy makes the world go round. When you empower female energy for good, magic happens. Modisyn Taylor tells us that a woman's confidence comes in her ability to call upon her feminine wisdom. Strength does not arise from a place of firm determination and a will to succeed no matter the cost. "What really makes a woman confident is her capacity for listening to her true self and being able to call upon her feminine wisdom to any situation that may arise...A woman simply needs to get in touch with her insight and sense of compassion to truly demonstrate the depth of her strength." Look at the Women's March, The Pink Hat Movement.
Ask, Believe, Receive...
When we call upon our wisdom, we Ask, Believe, and Receive what we need in life. We achieve joy in ourselves and then become a vessel for another's joy. So as we embark upon the time of year that so many refer to as the joyous winter holiday season, seek what makes your heart content. Focus on the good and what you wish for in life, not what you don't want. Surround yourself with positive people, those you aspire to be like. Learn from the wisdom and examples of others, and most importantly live life to its fullest. Embrace joy!
